This is one of those things that I didn't know I needed, but now glad I have it. It does keeps the dust, critters, and most moisture off the battery and top pad, which is good for a lot of reasons. A couple times a year, we get mice and sometimes they like to stay cozy inside the engine bay. They make a good bit of mess on the battery cover, which is fully covered by this item.

The fit is perfect and tight. It snugly grips down on the battery and easily clicks into place with a smack. The plastic has a nice matter finish that should be easy to clean, and the material isn't too rigid and brittle.

I can't see any reason not to get one of these, unless your truck never leaves the garage.

This cover is made of strong polymer plastic and it fits exactly over my OEM battery. It is easy to install and clips solidly in place over battery. It functions perfectly to prevent unintentional contact of exposed battery terminals on the battery. It was relatively low cost and a no-brainer buy. When attempting to install a battery box cover on my 2019 RAM 1500 with a 5.7L engine, I encountered several issues. Initially, I noticed the negative cable was twisted clockwise causing the battery sensor to be unparallel with battery, preventing the cover from fitting. To resolve this, I loosened the battery cable and adjusted the sensor to be parallel with the battery, which improved the fit. However, the negative side of the cover still would not clip in completely. I discovered that the bolt on the negative cable was hitting the raised section of the cover designed for clearance. I again loosened the negative terminal and tried lowering it as much as possible, but the cover still would not fully clip in without forcing it; however, the cover will not stay clipped even if forced. Since I replaced the battery two years ago, this may be contributing to the issue. It appears that the new battery has a slight step at the bottom of the post keeping the terminal from sliding down any further causing the negative terminal bolt to hit the cover. Best option would be for the manufacturer to redesign the cover with an additional 1/16" clearance for that bolt. Despite this issue, the battery cover does make the engine compartment look cleaner.

My Ram 1500 had a mouse or something eat away the fabric cover that was around the OEM battery and I was hoping to cover the unsightly mess. I was skeptical that this cover would be worth the price, but ohh my! This looks so nice! Every vehicle should have a cover like this! This might be a bit expensive, but looks so much better than an open battery. Seems to be durable and feels like it will last a long time. I wonder why Dodge didn't include these from the factory?

This should be an OEM item meaning RAM should have included in their original packaging. The battery cover is well made and designed. It offers protection against damaging your battery terminals and protects you from potential shock. The installation is straightforward with three clips, one clip for side to side and one clip one front side of the battery that is away from the side of the fender. My only critique is the clip on the negative side is about a 1/16 short and doesn't engage that size. I tried lowering the negative side terminal as much as possible and still couldn't get it to click on that side. I have an oem battery and the other two sides clip with no issues. The cover doesn't move and the two clips that are available handles the job. Even with that, it's still worth the purchase! The battery cover gives the engine compartment a clean look.
